Annul antisemitic decision to shutter Islamic Movement!
Netanyahu's declaration of the Islamic Movement's northern branch as an illegal organisation is a serious proto-fascist step which expresses the structural anti-Arab antisemitism found in the Zionist leadership of the state of Israel. All Zionist parties, including those impersonating an “opposition”, participated in this criminal act, which represents an open declaration of war against civil society organisations in Israel, at this stage of Arab society. The sordid historical precedent, now imitated by the leadership of the Jewish state, is Russia's Tsarist reactionary regime of one hundred years ago. Instead of the slogan “strike at the Jews, save Russia,”, the government adopted the slogan “strike at the Muslims, save Israel.” This is taking place whilst organised anti-Arab incitement, which has its eyes on the government, encourages the dirty, criminal racism permeating Israeli society. Netanyahu's government desists from outlawing the criminals of the Lehava group, the crazies of the “Temple Mount” and the “price tag” terrrists because they are Jews.
It is no coincidence that the attack on the Islamic Movement took place in the shadow of the murderous ISIS terrorist attack in Paris. The timing of the massacre of French citizens was exploited by the Israeli government to ground Netanyahu's campaign of lies, which contends that all Islamic organisations are terrorist bodies. 17 associations and institutions, representing a substantial portion of Arab civil society in Israel, bodies which work in education, health and charity, were also defined as illegal, attacked, robbed and shuttered. The ongoing project of the Zionist leadership is to “disappear” the indigenous Palestinian people, which it dispossessed, from the face of the earth. After dismantling the Arab society occupied in 1967, a seige was imposed on its western part and civil society organisations within it were eliminated. The government now turns to continue this destruction within the state of Israel. Israel again and again proves through its criminal actions the existence of the torn and divided Palestinian people as one people having one homeland.
As a body aiming to transform the state of the Jewish race into a secular and democratic state, in which religion will be a private matter of each person and not a public subject, our political platform has no affinity to that of the Islamic Movement. Yet this is not the question facing us at the moment, and we must struggle against the criminal decision of the state of Israel, which undermines the threads of democracy still existing in Israeli society. To us it is clear that the Islamic Movement is as organisation of the oppressed minority in Israel, and as such it must receive the support of all the Israeli supporters of democracy and civil society organisations.
No to state antisemitism. No to an apartheid state. No to anti-democratic attacks. Committee for a Secular Democratic State.
